| Besides being co-host of and Executive Producer of Hawaii Stars,
Carole Kai is president of Carole Kai Charities, Inc. which started
the Great Aloha Run in 1985 and the Carole Kai Bed Race in 1974.
She started her career as an entertainer,
entertaining all over the world and in Las Vegas, where was
chosen "Newcomer
of the Year" in 1979.
But her real love is helping people, especially those in Hawaii
and in the military here. Her father was in the Military Intelligence
Corps in the Army.
She attributes her work ethic and devotion to helping people
to her mother, Ethel, who taught her that the only way to true
happiness is to help others, the way the Hawaiians did, with
no thought to getting back anything but just giving.
