Tell us about your family:
My parents are Martin and Bernadita Borja. I am the eldest of four and have two brothers and one sister - J.D. is 23, Marty is 15, and Jennifer is 18. We also have an American Staffordshire Bull Terrier named Duke, who is 2 years old. Originally, my parents are from the island of Saipan, in the Northern Marianas Islands. Our ethnicity is Chamorro, which most people don't know and so I thought I would share! We came to Hawaii when I was 8 years old and have resided here ever since. Growing up we lived in the Salt Lake/Moanalua area, but now reside in Mililani.

What high school did you go to?
I attended Moanalua High School.

Where do you work and what do you do at your job?
I work for Fairfield Resorts at the Outrigger Reef Hotel in the Contracts Department. Along with my four other co-workers, we take care of all the legal paperwork of contracts for our timeshare. Its a fast-paced work environment that really keeps me on my toes!

What do you enjoy doing when you're not working?
I have always had a passion for reading - by far, that is my favorite thing to do aside from singing, of course! When I want to enjoy some quiet time, books are my personal getaway from the craziness of everyday life; other than that, I'm usually singing. I have also developed a liking to working out and try regularly to visit the nearest 24 hour fitness with my work-out partner and boyfriend, Peter. Last but not least, spending quality time with him along with my family and friends is a happy activity I indulge in as often as possible.

What goals do you have for your life?
Appreciating all the good things that come my way has always been one of my foremost goals (to include being in Hawaii Stars!). To be happy, laugh heartily, and being in the best of health and spirits are also very important to me. Achieving financial stability, owning a beautiful home, and having a family would be the completion of my list of goals.

What motivated you to enter Hawaii Stars?
From a very young age, my family has always encouraged me to sing -whenever and wherever! Over the years we have watched Hawaii Stars and my mother would often tell me that I should try out, but for the longest time I felt too shy to inquire more about it. The day of the audition, my boyfriend Peter and childhood friend Reno gently persuaded me to go and check it out; they kept telling me that since I loved to sing so much, why not take a chance and see where it could take me? I went with Reno to the audition and the two of us made it! That moment will forever be imprinted in my memory. I will never forget the rush of excitement that overcame me when I heard my name called - after all, for me it was a huge accomplishment just to have gotten on that stage and sing before all the people present! Simply put, it was incredible. The depth of my gratitude to my family, my boyfriend Peter, my buddy Reno and all my friends for believing in me knows no bounds. I'm so glad I went for it!

What do you hope for the most out of being on Hawaii Stars?
I hope to grow as a vocalist and a performer - I think being apart of this experience will build my confidence on stage and really challenge me to sing to the best of my ability. In addition, I love the fact that I'll be surrounded by people whose love for singing matches my own - striking up new friendships with people who have a common interest is great and I hope to make many friends!
